Pupil Chaplains
Welcome to Chaplaincy at Holy Trinity!
Pupil Chaplaincy is very important our school and we are now on our seventh team of Pupil Chaplains. This year Holy Trinity has a dedicated and vibrant team of 11 Chaplains who have a vital role to play in enhancing the Religious Life of our school. All pupils in Year 5 are invited to apply in writing to become a Pupil Chaplain. They undergo an interview process with Father Gerard Kelly, Mrs Lyle (Head teacher), Mrs Duckett (Chaplaincy Lead) . Once selected, Pupil Chaplains are commissioned at a special Mass. The year 5 children then work alongside the established year 6 children.
Our Pupil Chaplains work hard to promote our Catholic faith in school but they are also a wonderful link between the school and our parish. The job of Pupil Chaplain has a very high profile in school and some of the tasks these pupils carry out include welcoming new pupils and staff to our school, leading Masses and Liturgical events, and leading fundraising initiatives. Our Pupil Chaplains make a great contribution to the faith life of our school, as well as working in the parishes and wider community. They work and pray very hard!
Please read below to find out about all the various activities that happen at Holy Trinity which enrich our interactions and relationships with God and with each other. You will find lots of information about what we do, so please take a look!
Romero Day
Our Pupil Chaplains had a wonderful time at Blessed Trinity to celebrate Romero Day. They worked with chaplains from other schools in the trust and one of the themes was 'seeing things through God's eyes'. They enjoyed all the different activities.
We gained the Live Simply Award from Cafod July 2023
The live simply award is an opportunity for Catholic communities - parishes, schools, religious orders and chaplaincies - to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si' to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted to us”.

Our Chaplains read beautifully at the Mass and were respectful and prayerful. All the children brought flowers to the altar and some of these were taken to a local residential home with whom we have forged good links.
