Spring Term

Epiphany

We began Spring Term with a liturgy celebrating the Epiphany! We thought about the awe and excitement the Wise Men must have felt and we gave thanks for our safe, enjoyable Christmas holidays!

Baptism of the Lord

The whole school school gathered together to celebrate the feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Class 4 led the worship. We thought about our Baptismal promises and how we can live these out in our daily lives. They reminded us of how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit were all present a the same time. This was the beginning of Jesus' ministry and they finished by asking us all to be a better version of ourselves.

Ash Wednesday

The whole school and parishioners celebrated the start of Lent with a beautiful Ash Wednesday Mass. We are wearing our ashes to remind us how we are called to grow closer to God during Lent.

Lenten Promises

The school have made Lenten promises and are working hard to keep them, but understand that it doesn't matter if we break them, because God always helps us to start again. Children help set up for collective worship and deliver them to the classes

Holy Week

The children in all classes learn about and reflect on Holy Week each year. Usually, the Pupil Chaplains led each year group in praying the Stations of the Cross. It is a very spiritual afternoon in which the children engage with the Lord's Passion and deepen their understanding of his love and sacrifice for us.

This year, our Year 2 children led the school in a Stations of the Cross liturgy.

Father Gerard said Mass on Maundy Thursday. Our pupils read beautifully, and the singing was amazing.
